Nina Can’t Get Any Meaner

We’re back again this weekend as the UFC heads to familiar waters over in Calgary for UFC On Fox 30.

Coming off a two-fight win streak Nina Ansaroff steps back into the Octagon this coming weekend to face the #11 ranked straw-weight contender Randa Markos. Training out of American Top Team, Nina has a very well rounded MMA game not really lacking any of the skills needed to compete inside of the top 10 in the straw-weight division. She will be more than ready for Randas takedowns having a nice half 7 month lay off training with some of the best in the world helping her to focus on training smarter and staying healthy during camp.

Ansaroff was born and raised in Weston, Florida. She wrestled while at Lake Region High School. Ansaroff started practicing Taekwondo at the age of 6. She began training in mixed martial arts in 2009 as a way to lose weight and to help keep in shape following a motorcycle accident. She made her professional debut in 2010 and amassed a record of 5-3 before joining Invicta FC.

Nina will have her training partner and current girlfriend Amanda Nunes in her corner this Saturday which can’t be bad for the straw-weight considering Amanda is the current world champion. I can only imagine the same world champion caliber of training will also be driven into Nina and although Amanda took a break in Brazil during Nina’s camp, Nina was actually a part of the team before Amanda so no troubles in receiving that champion mentality and atmosphere.

Her opponent Randa Markos is no slouch, and she is fighting in Canada where she was raised since age 3. Hometown cooking aside, I can’t see a path for victory in Randa’s arsenal unless she can secure the take-down and keep Nina down.  She hasn’t had the worst run in the UFC female straw-weight division but since 2014, Randa’s record looks like this (lost-won-lost-won-lost-won-lost-won-lost-won) and I know you can guess what outcome is coming up next.

This week’s free tip will be Nina Ansaroff to win @ 1.73
